DaySmart Stripe Implementation (Dec 2022 - Jan 2023)

User Experience Design

The goal of this project was to design intuitive, user-friendly flows related to Stripe payment integrations. That included, adding Stripe account to the app, connecting Stripe devices to app, transaction flows, settings pages and more.

Requirements were discussed between the Product Owner and I, as well as a rough timeline. From there, the Product Owner and I made tasks in Jira, putting in writing what we discussed. Then it was time to get started.

Main research was learning about Stripe design guidelines and flows. Also did competitive analysis to build user empathy and keep up with trends regarding transaction flows. Looked at analogous competitors in the food space as transactions are common and their interface needs to be intuitive in able to handle a high volume.

Not all flows came completely from scratch, as there was a another payment integration service before that covered some areas such as settings. So instead, I revamped some flows to account for both payment integration services.

My process in the design stage was to go flow-by-flow, designing the flows then putting them through UX review. Flows were high-fidelity as most flows had elements from previous finished mockups. If approved, mockups then go through product review. Sometimes the mockups would be reviewed with the developers live as well. Past product review, the task gets marked as “Done” in Jira, and a handoff file of all prototyped flows is sent to the development team.
